Australia

Australia is everything you’ve dreamed of and more. It’s a land of colours and contrasts: from the red, dusty outback to the lush, tropical rainforests, with mountains, vineyards, and the most beautiful beaches in the world in between. Australia has been built for travel and tourism and is thus incredibly popular with travellers all over the world.

Cambodia

Cambodia, part of Asia & Oceania, is a popular stop along the Southeast Asia backpacking route, and home to a large ex-pat community. The biggest tourist highlight of the country is the awe-inspiring ancient temples of Angkor Wat, located just outside of Siem Reap.

China

China is a country full of rich history and culture, making it one of the most fascinating places in the world! Bustling metropolises like Shanghai and Hong Kong are contrasted by breathtaking natural scenery like Zhangjiajie’s “Floating” Peaks and impressive historical sites like The Great Wall of China.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong is such an exciting, lively and vibrant city, that really lives up to it’s term: “East meets West”. It has a great mix of both Western and Eastern, both when it comes to culture, food, shopping, and architecture. It is a city that has “everything”. On any given day, you can head to a fishing village less than an hour from downtown, lie on a beach and go shopping bonanza in one of the many flashy shopping malls or back-alley markets.

India

India is a fantastic country, I absolutely love it and can never get enough. Many feel the same but others never visit because of perceived difficulties. Travel in India is challenging, even more so with kids. Travelling around the country of India and learning more about Indian culture are fascinating and immensely rewarding.

Indonesia

Indonesia is made up of a whopping 17,800 islands—something that would take you a lifetime to explore! It is also home to a vast range of fauna and flora as well as countless linguistic and ethnic groups, cultures, and incredible landscapes. I can’t emphasize enough how much you need to visit (and spend time in) this beautiful country!

Japan

Japan is one of my favorite destinations in Asia! It boasts an endless list of attractions, things to do, and places to explore.

Full of contradictions, you’ll find ancient history paired with the newest technology and development. From robot restaurants to ancient temples and cat cafes, there’s something for everyone. And let’s not forget about all of the incredible food and shopping! I’m still dreaming about all the delicious sushi, Soba, and Ramen noodles.

Laos

Laos is wrapped in a mountainous landscape, making it one of the most beautiful countries in Southeast Asia, even if it lacks the beaches of other countries. Adventure travel is big here. You can go zip-lining, kayaking, hiking, and cave tubing all in one day. It used to be a popular destination for partying but, since the wild tubing days have been curtailed, it’s turned into a more relaxed, outdoor-oriented country.

Malaysia

Malaysia is one of the most underrated destinations in Southeast Asia. While the country does see a fair share of backpackers, it sees only a fraction compared to popular neighbours Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. From the dense urban jungle of Kuala Lumpur to the pristine beaches of the Perhentian Islands, from the jungles in the interior to the delicious food, Malaysia has a ton to offer travellers.

Maldives

The Maldives is a desert island experience like no other. Be a small pin on a big map, and seize the once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to this remote oasis! Discover a stunning paradise of over 1000 reef fringed islands, home to the best beaches in the world! Not only is the sand the whitest, but the water is the clearest, the wildlife totally spectacular, and the palm tree forests beyond magnificent.

Myanmar

Myanmar, also called Burma, is a country in Southeast Asia. It is the largest country in Mainland Southeast Asia, and has a population of about 54 million as of 2017.

Myanmar is bordered by Bangladesh and India to its northwest, China to its northeast, Laos and Thailand to its east and southeast, and the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal to its south and southwest.

Philippines

The Philippines, home to beautiful beaches, chilled island vibes, an interesting history and some of the most wonderfully kind people. It’s one of the very best places I’ve been to. In fact, I love the Philippines so much that I can’t wait for a return visit They are becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination and the country really has a lot to offer for visitors with over 7000 islands.

Singapore

There’s no other place like Singapore. Located just off the southern tip of Malaysia, this vibrant city-state boasts a beautiful blend of Malaysian, Indian, Chinese, Arab and English cultures – all with its own Singaporean twist. The “Lion City,” as it’s referred to, is filled with delightful culinary experiences, state-of-the-art accommodations and exciting nightlife.

South Korea

South Korea is a fascinating country. It has a rich history and offers its visitors everything from the ultra-modern capital city of Seoul to villages like Andong where it seems that time has stood still. The country has countless National Parks, one of them even adjacent to Seoul, where I did some impressive but tiring hikes.

Thailand

Thailand is a country that needs no introduction to the world of traveling. It one of the most beautiful countries with what is in my opinion the best tasting food out there (and I’ve eaten lots of food!). Thailand offers everything one is looking in a big trip of any length. The city of Bangkok stimulates all senses with incredible nightlife and street food. Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in the north offer idyllic natural landscapes and more temples than you can count.

Vietnam

With its fascinating history, gorgeous landscapes, tasty food, and vibrant energy, Vietnam will awaken all your senses and pull you in from all angles. Visiting Vietnam feels like a trip you’ve never taken before—the best is to expect nothing and enjoy the thrill, serenity, and relaxation of it all.
